Fire Raptor – never more…

I spent a good part of the three day weekend assembling a Fire Raptor.  It was a royal pain in the butt, but here it is; mostly assembled.

almost completed fire raptor

I’m pretty sure I’ll pay a local modeler to assemble a storm eagle when I finally buy one.

We also added a new dog to our family, so I spent most of Saturday on the back patio working on this stupid fire raptor and watching the dogs wrestle and get acclimated to each other.

That’s me in my Mercy Killer shirt.

early prep makes later assembly much smoother

dry fit prior to gluing

I use just a small handful of tools for resin models:

  • Hobby knife (dull tip is preferable)
  • Sanding board (emery board)
  • Gorilla glue
  • Superglue accelerator
  • Large pot with simmering water
  • Tongs
  • Dremel with small cutting bit (grout removal)
  • Lots of rubber bands
  • Even more patience
